SQUARE 2
This
was the first themed issue. Having been to the academi's writers'
weekend in Belfast, I, Nick Fisk (the editor) decided to give this issue
a Belfast theme. It didn't quite turn out as planned as I was unable to
secure writing from certain people who'd attended the weekend as hoped
(notable omission being Sinead Morrissey's "Through The Square Window"
poem, as I didn't hear back from her). However, Ifor Thomas and Neil
Frude, who were there, each chipped in with a couple.
The
deciding part of John Davies' short story also features, along with
writing from England-based-but-Welsh, Kate Noakes, proud Ponty boy, Dave
Lewis, Valleys-girl Jan Price, American-but-Cardiff based, Andrew
Shakespeare (yes, that is his real name), someone called The Brigadier,
and someone else called Engleburt Bartfast (no, that's not his real
name).
