Square Issue 6
For the first time in the
short history of Square, with this issue, the editorial reins were to
some extent handed over to someone else.
Ms Gemma June Howell was
selected to be editor of this, the women's issue. The idea with this
issue was that it would be a kind of celebration in honour of Carol Ann
Duffy becoming the first ever female poet laureate, as well as the fact
that women generally seem to be achieving, left right and centre, in all fields of
the arts.
Plenty of fine writing
throughout by several women, a couple of token efforts by a couple of
blokes, and a nice centre spread featuring work by Lorraine Bewsey and Isobel Oak.
